CHAPTER SIX

As much as I didn't want it to, my mind was racing. The monster was a demon, and he knew what was going on with me. He was a being of pure evil, yet he wanted to help me? I tried to clear my mind. He said he could read my thoughts no matter where I was, and I still didn't trust him.

I entered the woods, and tried to use my surroundings to help distract me. I thought about the dry ground, the trees that always looked so sinister at night, and how the moonlight illuminated certain spots on the ground.

“Oh my, you are a flustered one, aren't you?â€

I stopped immediately and looked around. I didn't imagine that voice, someone was here. I heard a feminine giggle as I searched for the source.

A woman stepped into the moonlit clearing next to me, or at least I thought it was a woman. She was practically naked, wearing only a black lace bra and panties. Lace stockings were strapped to a garter belt, and her knee-high stilettos shone in the light. She had fiery red hair that hung seductively off her shoulders, and eyes that glowed green in the night. Black wings, similar to the ones I saw on Laxidan that first night, sprouted from her back. She was the most beautiful woman I'd ever seen, making Ms. Jones and Alyssa look rather homely in comparison; only Laxidan could compare to that level of beauty. I now knew that demons were real, I knew what this was, and I was terrified.

Succubus.

If Laxidan could read my mind, this demon probably could too, and I tried desperately, now more than ever, to clear my thoughts.

“And what is a pretty, young boy doing out at this time of night?†she sang as she approached me.

I just stood there, unable to move. Nothing stopped me, I just didn't want to run. A pleasant scent filled my nostrils, like fresh cut flowers on a perfect spring day, and I could feel something massage my brain, like soft invisible tentacles. I couldn't think of anything but wanting to please this woman in any way I could, physically or mentally.

She gently placed a warm hand on my chest as she stopped in front of me, looking lustfully into my eyes.

“So, young Devin,†she said, gently caressing my entire body, hand finally stopping on my swollen groin, “where have you been?â€

My eyes rolled to the back of my head as I backed against a tree. I wanted to answer her, but my brain couldn't summon the words in the midst of my ecstasy. All I could think about, all I ever wanted in my whole life, was to be ravaged by this woman, demon or not.

She stepped back with a smile, biting her lip seductively. “I can make all your desires become a reality,†she cooed as she undid the front clasp of her bra, revealing perfect pale breasts. “All you have to do is answer my question, and you can have me.â€

My heart was racing so fast I thought it would explode, and my breath came in short gasps. I could have her! As much as I wanted to, I still couldn't speak.

She bent down in front of me, putting her face right in front of my crotch and began to rub my thighs. “You don't even have to say it baby.†I felt the tentacles massage harder as she spoke. “Just think it, and I'm yours.â€

The tentacles kept rubbing harder and harder, so hard that it was almost painful, and that snapped me out of my lust-filled trance. She was a demon! She was going to steal my soul! I tried to mentally resist, I willed the tentacles to stop but they never slowed.

I screamed as my chest began to burn, it was the worst pain I had ever felt in my life. This must be it, the pain must be my soul leaving my body. I screamed again as it got worse, and I fell to my knees causing the succubus to step back.

I tried to get the tentacles to stop, maybe if I stopped them I could save my soul. The pain increased as I tried to push them back. I wasn't sure, but it felt like the pressure in my mind was less intense, so I pushed harder as I crumpled on the ground grabbing my chest.

I wasn't imagining it. The assault on my brain wasn't as severe as it was before. The pain in my chest was almost unbearable, but I fought through it, knowing I would die if I gave in. The succubus gasped and I screamed as I imagined a hand grabbing all the tentacles and ripping them out of my head.

It worked! My mind was my own again, and the pain stopped. I was panting, crouched on the ground with tears running down my face and spittle dribbling out of my mouth. I looked up at the demon, and she looked almost as shocked as I was.

“My mind and my soul are my own, demon,†I growled, still crumpled on the ground.

The demon turned and ran, disappearing in a puff of black smoke when she exited the moonlight.

It took every ounce of strength I had to get to my feet, but I did. I stumbled the rest of the way home. Judging by the look on the demon's face, she didn't expect me to withstand her assault, and I didn't think I could either. This was something I was going to have to ask Laxidan about, but in person. I didn't trust him, and I never wanted another demon to enter my mind ever again.

I didn't have the energy to climb back in my window, so I took the new house key I had received today and clumsily unlocked the door. I took one step into the doorway and collapsed, darkness filling my vision as I fell.
